Parkinson’s Disease Society Tissue Bank Open Day

What is it?

The Tissue Bank Open Day is an annual event, when we open our doors to the public so that they can get a better idea of who we are and what we do. It is primarily aimed at registered donors, prospective registrants and next of kin, but anyone is welcome to come along. It usually held around March or April and lasts for an afternoon. An example of a typical programme of events can be found below. More specific information will be available closer to the time. In the meanwhile, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

Programme of Events:

  • Arrival and introductions

  • Talk

  • Rotation of groups of people between:

    1. Questions and answers

    2. Poster viewing

    3. Microscope sessions
      (These are by ticket only (due to limited space). Please reserve a ticket to be picked up from Tissue Bank staff on the day.)

    4. Tours of the Tissue Bank laboratories

    5. Tea/Coffee

We hope it will be an interesting and enjoyable day.

Due to limited spaces we allocate places on a first come first served basis. When the date for the next open day is announced, please contact us to reserve your place.
